Pierre Rolland

Now approaching 27 years old,it’s time for this young man to come of age. After performing extremely well in the last two tours I expect him to go even better this year.In 2011 he finished 10th overall, winning the stage up Alp d’Huez(crucial for this year). That day he beat Samuel Sanchez into 2nd and Alberto Contador into 3rd.Last year he performed extremely well throughout the whole race and finished 8th,winning the stage up La Toussuire. He lost over 12 minutes in the time trials to Wiggins and finished 16 minutes down in total. The route this year is much more favourable to him with long, hard climbs and much less time trialling.I would fully expect a top 5 finish,at the very least. He usually builds his whole season around the tour so looking at form is not usually a help.In most races he has been seen launching attacks that get caught, these seem to be him testing his legs in anticipation of a big push in the Tour. That being said he did win Pays de la Loire at the beginning of April. My only concern is his recent “health scare”,I’m not sure how this will affect him. This has to be the reason that he is currently 5/4 to finish in the top 10 with bet365.I would say that this is an excellent bet and would advise a large bet.
