Stage 2 should end in another sprint, but slightly different from stage 1.
Climb 5 is the Alsemberg,which is 1.2km at 4%.Climb 6 is the Bruine Put,which is 1.25km at 5.7%.
The sprinters will get over these,it’s the end that interests me.I can’t get any exact figures but it looks about 1km at 4%.Marcel Kittel is not a big fan of an uphill finish and I don’t see him winning this stage.
Andre Greipel is brilliant on these types of finishes and I would expect him to start as favourite, expect Arnoud Demare to challenge him as he also goes well in an uphill sprint.
I have a few long shots in mind but I’ll wait until the odds are up before mentioning them!
Stage win – Andre Greipel 2 points at 8/1
Stage win – Arnoud Demare 1 point e/w at 40/1
Match bet – Chavanel to beat Jungels 10 points at 1/2
If you need reminded about how Greipel does in an uphill finish, watch this!
Go to 34:10 in and watch Greipel beast the peloton up the hill.
