Binche-Chimay-Binche 2013

As the European racing comes to a close, the riders travel to Belgium for the last time in 2013.They’ll be delighted to hear that the weather forecast is good!

The route has changed from last year, although the circuit in Binche remains the same.

Screen Shot 2013-10-07 at 18.49.44It doesn’t look too hard here but compare it to the 2012 profile picture.

Screen Shot 2013-10-07 at 18.51.13As I said, the circuit is the same so it looks more challenging here.

In 2012,Adam Blythe won the sprint finish and we will get another sprint this year.

After finishing 2nd in 2012,Adrian Petit of Cofidis has to fancy his chances this year.A few other of the 2012 top 10 are returning:

Wynants(7th) – Belkin

Bille(9th) – Lotto

Lotto also have Jens Debusschere, fresh from his GC success in Tour de l’Eurometropole.

The other big name riders are:

Greg Van Avermaet(BMC)

Samuel Dumoulin(AG2R) – 2nd in the Tour de Vendee on Sunday

Lars Boom and Mark Renshaw(Belkin)

Michael Morkov(Saxo)

Danny Van Poppel(Vacansoleil)

Ramon Sinkeldam(Argos)

Danilo Napolitano(Accent.jobs)

GVA has recently completed the Worlds and Lombardia,so he’ll be riding in support of a teammate.

It’s very hard to predict the outcome in these races as it’s not always clear who the leaders are.

I’ll play it safe and say Petit will improve on 2nd in 2012 with a win.
