2013 has been a massive year for this very talented Spaniard. At only 22, he featured in many top class races: Tour of the Algarve, Giro del Trentino, Volta a Portugal and the Tour de Vendee.
These races gave him valuable experience and he looks like being ready to fly in 2014.
His biggest result of the year was winning the Tour de l’Avenir. He won stage 4 by over 1 minute and comfortably defended his lead on the other stages.
He will continue to ride for Caja Rural and I would expect him to be part of their squad for the Vuelta Espana.
There will be other opportunities for him to show his worth to the team and I expect him to be allowed freedom in many races, after proving himself this year.
He has all the capabilities of being the next big thing in Spanish cycling.
