Riders to Watch in 2014 – Lawson Craddock

Lawson Craddock

This young rider, has long been touted as the next big American star. He’s just 21 but already has a very impressive look about him.

The big surprise was that he didn’t join one of the American teams, but choose to sign for Argos-Shimano. They look a great team for him with plenty of young talent.

His breakthrough performance was claiming the white jersey in the Tour of California. He can climb but is also a talented time trialist.

He was active in the USA Pro Challenge and was involved in a good break with Mathias Frank and Lachlan Morton, on stage 2. He lost ground on the final climb and finished 5th on the stage, and he managed to claim 7th on the GC, 2nd in the white jersey.

He rounded off his season with a 5th place in the under 23s world championships ITT.

How he copes moving to Euope and joining a European team will be interesting to see, but he will be given opportunities to shine.
