Just the second edition of the race, but the organisers have gone for it. They’ve added in an extra lap, which features the big climb, increasing the distance from 188km to 220km. This is a serious distance at any point in the year, let alone February. 2900m of climbing isn’t a huge amount, but when you mix in the distance, it’s going to be a selective race, especially the final lap. Well, that was the plan. At the last moment, the organisers have decided to revert to the old route, 3 laps and 190km, I’m a little disappointed.
