Rome > Rome 125km
The race comes to an end in Rome. I don’t know about you, but I’ve enjoyed the last three weeks, but the race has lacked a bit of drama. This should be another sprint battle between Milan and Merlier, the Belgian is looking to pull level with him and secure a 3rd stage win, but there are others in the mix too. Mark Cavendish took a brilliant win last year, after what was a poor race for him, surprises can happen at the end of a grand tour. Cav winning wasn’t a shock, but Kirsch and Fiorelli finished in the top 3 with Milan down in 14th. These stages are normally easy affairs, with a sprint guaranteed, but the final stage in last year’s Vuelta was insane. You’ve got to love modern cycling.
