Mirandola > San Luca 199km
Giro dell’Emilia, one of the most beautiful races on the calendar. Back in the day, it was normally raced by smaller teams, but in recent years it’s been full of the biggest names in cycling. This year, the Euros have stolen several of the top European talents, but the start list still looks strong to me. The organisers of the race always tinker with the first section of the race, mainly due to switching the start town on a regular basis. This year, they’ve gone for an easier approach to San Luca, followed by 5 ascents of the beautiful climb.
