2026 Paris-Roubaix Previewcyclingmole

Compiègne > Roubaix 259km

I’ve seen many things over the years in cycling, never before have I been on the verge of watching history in the making. Make no mistake, if Tadej Pogačar wins Paris-Roubaix, it will be one of the most incredible performances in recent history. Yes, he’s already got a glittering palmarès, but this win would be better than all of that put together. A skinny climber should not be able to win this race, but Pogačar showed last year that it can be done. If he does someone manage to beat the big guys, he’ll complete the set of winning all 5 monuments, something that’s only been done by Eddy Merckx, Rik Van Looy and Roger De Vlaeminck. Not only that, but he’ll have won the first 3 monuments of the year, never in the history of cycling has a rider won all 5 in one year. As I said, we are potentially about to watch history being made. Looking to stop him is Mathieu van der Poel, a rider who has looked unbeatable in Roubaix, 3 consecutive wins here also puts him on the verge of history, no rider has ever won 4 in a row in the history of this race, and it’s been going since 1896. One way or another, history is going to be made on Sunday.
