Vitré > Vitré 175km A lovely race in the French Cup on Easter weekend. It’s a race which is two lap circuits, one big and one small, but the small one uses most of the same roads the big one uses too. It’s usually fairly attritional, 2400m of climbing is relatively tough but it can still be won by a sprinter.
2026 Dwars door Vlaanderen Women’s Preview
Waregem > Waregem 129km The women’s edition of the race has an incredible startlist, it looks like the Tour of Flanders has come early. Vollering, Longo Borghini, Kopecky, Pieterse, Le Court Pienaar and even Reusser is back!
2026 Dwars door Vlaanderen Men’s Preview
Roselare > Waregem 184km Back in 2025 this was the scene of one of the biggest fuck ups in recent cycling history, I’m sure the Visma guys will get PTSD just from the name. With three riders in the front group of four, they managed to mess things up and Powless beat Van Aert in the sprint, I think a certain team from the Netherlands are coming to try and right that wrong.
2026 Paris-Camembert Preview
Magnanville > Livarot-Pays-d’Auge 198km The 87th edition of the race, last year it was a selective finale and a group of 5 riders fought out the win, Lander Loockx was the first home ahead of Seixas and Barré. The route remains the same, it’s a finish that suits riders who can climb a bit.
2026 La Roue Tourangelle Preview
Château-Renault > Tours 202km I wasn’t going to bother doing a preview for this race, but once I took a look at the odds, I didn’t want to let you down.
2026 Volta a Catalunya Stage 7 Preview
Barcelona > Barcelona 95km The final stage of the race and it’s the usual lap circuit in Barcelona. Without doubt, one of the best circuits in the whole season, Barcelona is also an incredible city, nearly as nice as Edinburgh! 7 laps of the Montjuïc lap, a stage that can be won from the peloton, but the break always has a decent chance of success, especially if the GC has already been settled.
2026 In Flanders Fields Women’s Preview
Wevelgem > Wevelgem 135km The women’s race is usually very different from the men. Crosswinds aren’t normally a big issue as the women don’t do the big loop up to the north, they stay around Ypres. The distance is also important, just 135km and only two ascents of the Kemmel, this is a race that usually finishes in a big sprint. Will 2026 be any different?
2026 In Flanders Fields Men’s Preview
Middelkerke > Wevelgem 241km New name, new start location, but everything else stays the same. A race which has long been touted as one for the sprinters, making it actually end in a sprint is incredibly difficult. Last time this happened was all the way back in 2019, since then it’s been a mixture of solo wins and small group finishes. Despite that, the startlist is rammed full of the quickest riders in the world, are they going to leave disappointed?
2026 Volta a Catalunya Stage 6 Preview
Berga > Queralt 158km As expected, Vingegaard destroyed everyone in the high mountains, it looks like the GC battle is already over. This stage was used in 2024, Pogačar won after a long solo effort, doesn’t he always. It’s a very demanding day in the saddle with almost 4000m of climbing in just 158km. Given all the crashes and the big gaps, the break will sniff a chance of taking the win, but Vingegaard can be a ruthless wee bastard.
2026 Volta a Catalunya Stage 5 Preview
La Seu d’Urgell > Coll de Pal (La Molina) 155km The Queen stage of Volta Catalunya, but will it go ahead as planned?
