San Francesco al Campo > Santuario di Oropa (Biella) 161km
Not the hardest stage in the world, but it’s still the first mountaintop finish of the race. Oropa has been used quite a few times in the Giro, it’s often perceived as being an “easy” climb, but I don’t buy that, it’s usually hard enough to see separation between the GC riders. After today’s amazing finish, Ineos are in the race lead with Narváez, but a mountaintop finish would normally be too much for him, so who’s going to chase the break? You know the answer.
