Auch > Hautacam 181km
I really don’t know what I watched today, absolute madness, but that’s modern cycling for you. Anyway, the mountains are calling. The opening 11 stages have been great, but the best is yet to come. The riders are about to take on a block of 3 stages in the Pyrenees, the GC will look very different come Friday night. The last time the race finished at the top of Hautacam was back in 2022, Vingegaard beat Pogačar by 1:04 and a certain Wout Van Aert incredibly finished 3rd, he would have won if the break stayed away. It was also used as a finish in 2014, Vincenzo Nibali smashed everyone en route to his 4th stage win and yellow jersey in Paris. The day starts in the valley, it’s going to be interesting to see what the break looks like and if they’ve got a chance of taking the win.
