A race that used to be one for punchy Italian sprinters, I remember waiting to watch the highlights on RAI TV when the race was won by Battaglin, Colbrelli and Pasqualon. Back in those days the race basically boiled down to multiple ascents of the climb up to the finish line, but since 2020 the race has been significantly harder.
