Tirana > Tirana 13.8km ITT Well, well, well, Mads is in pink after a dominant display. Lidl – Trek were outstanding, that was one of the best team efforts I’ve seen for a long time. Second day of the race and it’s an individual time trial. 13.8km is relatively short, but some of the GC riders are going to lose crucial time to riders like Ayuso and Roglič, and there’s a pink jersey to fight for too. I don’t really like TTs, but I’ll make an exception for this one.

Durrës > Tirana 160km It’s here, the first day of the Giro d’Italia. The race begins with 3 stages in Albania, a place where the road surface leaves a lot to be desired. I had thought the government would have used some of the Giro money to mend the roads, but I don’t think that’s happened, so expect lots of complaints from the riders. The opening stage is well designed, a classic battle between the different types of sprinters. Those who aren’t the best uphill are going to struggle, it’s going to be interesting to see who makes the finish...

The first grand tour of the season. The Giro organisers have decided to make the race back loaded in terms of the mountains, but they’ve also included a few exciting stages in the first two weeks. There are quite a few sprints to get the fast men interested, a little nod to Strade Bianche and good days for the breakaway riders. The battle for the pink jersey looks like being between Roglič and Ayuso, the Spaniard is a new name at this level. It should be a fascinating battle between youth and experience, the bookies can’t really separate them. This...

Genève > Genève 16.9km ITT The race ends with a 17km ITT in Geneva. Lenny Martinez took a brilliant win today, he’s also in the yellow jersey, but the UAE boys are favourites to walk away with the title.

Çesme > Izmir 106km A short stage to finish off the race, one that should end in a bunch sprint.

The price drop has happened and it’s now £30 to get all my previews for the rest of the year. That includes the Giro, Tour, Vuelta and plenty in-between. Without doubt, the best quality previews out there.

Selçuk > Çeşme 181km Another win for Astana in a race they’ve totally dominated and this is a chance to go for their 4th consecutive stage win.

Sion > Thyon 2000 128km The big GC day. It’s a short stage, just 128km, but it has 4111m of climbing, which includes 5 categorised climbs. This is up there in terms of stage difficulty; it should be one of the hardest in the whole of 2025.

Selçuk > Selçuk 161km After today’s cancelled stage, this one should go ahead just fine as the weather forecast is much better. It’s the 2nd, and final, GC stage of the race. Wout Poels has a nice lead, but it’s not over till the fat lady sings.

Cossonay > Cossonay 184km After the chaos of today, time for something a lot more controlled.
